We all want to be as close as possible to the ones we love the most. But do we feel as passionately about being close to God? We often feel distant and lukewarm towards our heavenly father. Instead of him being our treasure, he’s more like a common part of our everyday lives. We do things for him often out of obligation instead of affection.
The psalmist says, “But as for me, it is good to be near God” (Psalm 73:28). Do we think like the psalmist? Do we believe it’s good to be near God? If we loved him most of all, wouldn’t we try desperately to be near him? What does it even mean to be near him?
